This answer would be FALSE. This is because climate, physical features and natural resourses ALL have a major effect to population distribution and settlement. This is becuase to create a colony, the land must be flat to support farming, there must be a river nearby and lots of trees. If they stumble upon an area with none of these good features, no one will settle there. Everyone will gather together in an area that can prosper in future generations to come.
