A ritual is a solemn ceremony. Rituals are conducted to release energy, express emotion, bring order to the world, and bring meaning to individual lives. In today’s world, humans experience far fewer rituals than their forbearers. The consequence of the disappearance of ritual is a loss of texture and sense of connection to life. There are ways, though, that ritual still exists, grows, and intertwines with people’s lives. What does the ritual experience bring to people's lives?
