Think of what you have learned about the challenges facing the working class. Write a four- to five-sentence journal entry about life in Russia in 1917 from the point of view of a working-class woman.

SAMPLE RESPONSE EDG 2022

Sample response: Life is hard in Russia for the working class. My children and I are hungry and cold, and my husband and son are away at war. I miss them, and I hope they return home soon. Many people have lost family members in the war, and the government does not care that we are starving, cold, or dying. The Bolsheviks promise peace, land, and bread. I hope they can do something about our current situation.
