Please help me give two pros and cons for Texas annexation and what’s the best choice Subject 7th grade Texas history

Pros are
-the annexation of texas would greatly expand the territory of the united states
-the annexation of texas would help the united states accomplish its goal of manifest destiny
cons are
the annexation of texas could spark a war with mexico
the annexation of texas, a slave state, would disrupt the balance of free and slave states

Personally I think the better choice would be to not do the annexation because if it was to happen it would’ve messed up the slave to no slave state ratio
