Controversial ideas have come up in America recently on things like reparations(financial payments to people) for America’s wrongs in the past. In the 80’s Japanese Americans interned in camps during WWII were given 20,000 as an apology. Recently Manhattan Beach in So Cal is giving back land to a African American family whose land was taken from them back in the 1920’s by Los Angeles that is now worth an estimated 75 million dollars(they bought it for 1,200 in 1912). In seeing what happened here and considering the generational wealth idea above do you think this is a solution or an overreaction? If Americans try to make reparations for every injustice done in American history will we ever stop, or is every little bit we can do important?
