Why was the War on Terror good for the people of Iraq?

many radical groups were already terrorizing the people who lived there. The U.S involvement improved living conditions and gave more freedom to the Iraqi people specifically women. However, some would argue that the U.S involvement made things worse by raising tensions from extremist groups to do more desperate actions. For example, using people as hostages or bombers the worst kind involving children.
