Diferencias:

-Que el socialismo es estatalismo puro. Instituciones, aparato burocrático y político, intervencionismo e impuestos masivos. El liberalismo es todo lo contrario. El liberalismo, son puramente garantistas y son incapaces de generar una dictadura estatal totalitaria. Cosa que los tres tipos de socialismo (socialdemocracia, fascismos y marxismo) si que lo son.

-El liberalismo respeta y defiende la vida, la libertad y la propiedad de los individuos. El socialismo no.

-El liberalismo se basa en la responsabilidad personal, es decir que cada uno recoge lo que siembra. En cambio el socialismo se basa en el victimismo porque los socialistas dicen que la propiedad es un robo y todos deben recibir lo mismo con independencia de sus obras.

Semejanzas:

-Ambos tienen un discurso en contra de la concentración del poder. Y lo hacen porque se enfrentan a un enemigo común: el mercantilismo.

Que es el liberalismo? El liberalismo es una filosofía política y jurídica que defiende la libertad individual, la igualdad ante la ley, y una reducción del poder del Estado. Los liberales acabaron con las políticas mercantilistas y las barreras al comercio, promoviendo el comercio libre y la libertad de mercado.

Que es el socialismo? La meta del socialismo es construir una sociedad basada en la igualdad, la equidad económica, la iniciativa personal, la cooperación moral de un individuo, eliminando las compensaciones estratificadas por esfuerzo, promoviendo estructuras políticas y económicas de distribución como por ejemplo el seguro social.

Not sure if it’s within 12 months, but you could talk about the spreading of alt-right hate speech and whether that is covered by the right of freedom of speech? or, cover how during the midterm elections in some states many native american populations were declined to vote because they didn’t have the proper id, despite being citizens? also, the death of that journalist last month, who spoke freely and reported about the saudi government and how corrupted it is and was killed because of that (lack of free press/speech). just some ideas for this prompt, i hope at least one of them : )
