How did the attacks of the 9/11 affect Americans?

September 11th, 2001 was a tragedy for everyone across the globe. Americans were heartbroken of the loss of not only the twin towers, but the family that passed away from the planes as well. After 9/11, America had a sense of distraught and insecurity.
