Priests of the Catholic Church often sent unmarried mothers away to boarding schools and took they're children they would tell the mothers that they're child was being well cared for and ask the mothers for money to cover the costs of childcare little did the mothers know they're children had been put up for adoption or sometimes sold and the church was keeping the money for themselves this is just 1 example of the corruption in the church

the mother countries succeed in doing that by using the colony's natural resources, facilities in a colony, they do not take good care of these facilities, causing them to fail. this has had negative and positive effects on the people of africa, they then governed through direct or indirect rule depending on the country.
