Red arrows show the route Alexander traveled, from Macedonia, into Asia Minor, down along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea into Egypt. The arrows then show Alexander moving eastward into the Tigris-Euphrates region, then into southwest Persia and variously around Persia and other parts of Central Asia and western India.
