The places Alexander conquered by 323 BCE are colored green, including Greece, Macedonia, Asia Minor, Egypt, Palestine, the Tigris and Euphrates rivers region, and Persia. Red arrows show the route Alexander traveled, from Macedonia, into Asia Minor, down along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea into Egypt.
