I think that the US should do that because renewable energy sources such as solar power, hydroelectric power, wind power, etc. could lower fossil fuel consumption and it never runs out.

even if someone does vote because of your twitter status, there is no civic duty and would have been a more responsible citizen by not voting at all. voting should therefore not be viewed as a fulfillment of civic duty.
