Lesson 5.03 Era of Innovation Assignment Directions: For this assignment, you will research a product that was invented

during the second industrial revolution (1870 – 1914). You will need to include

ALL items on the following checklist. Once you have put everything together, you

will submit the assignment through the link in OLS. The assignment link can be

found either in your “to-do” list on the homepage of OLS or in the “Plan” tab if

you enter the World History 7B course itself.
Assignment Checklist:
• Name of invention
• Description of invention -this should be 2-3 sentences and discuss what it
does, is used for, and how it may have changed the way people
lived/worked
• Person who invented the product
• When the product was invented/released to the public
• Picture of the invention
Sources: You will not need to site any of your sources but some to get you started
might be our class textbook, The Human Odyssey Volume 2, Part 4 Chapter 3. You
could also use Wikipedia or the History Channel Website. The PBS site may also
have some useful information.
