A reason that might make me withhold my support of the declaration could be if I had some influences with the Britain crown that could be giving me money and support.

Explanation:

In the 1776´s, the Britain crown was in charge of every aspect on North America, making people who had direct connections with it very important people.

Some of them had higher positions and were part of the government because of their Britain support. People managing successfull bussiness, lands owners, they were all part of the Britain crown, and in consequence, their friends were benefited as well.

If I were part of those benefited people, like having a successful bussiness and a good position, I would totally be against the Declaration of Independence because that agreement damage my social and economic status.

Mainly because when the Declaration was signed and started to work, all those people where enemies of the nation.
