How did president obama's judicial appointments affect the composition of the u. s. supreme court?

President Obama made numerous judicial nominations in federal courts. However, only two of his nominees were confirmed earlier on in his first term. While his appointees have been greatly influential in the appellate courts, Obama's Supreme Court appointees didn't shift the balance of the court from deeply conservative to liberal as Obama would have wished.
