How did the end of world war i affect women in the workplace?

During World War I many women were recruited to fill the position left by men who were going to war. This was an excellent economic opportunity for women who could now earn wages doing jobs that were not available to them before.

Even though the wages were low compared to what men were earning, women finally had the opportunity to work outside the home, and to prove their worthiness in the workplace.

Unfortunately, after the war ended the vast majority of women were laid off to employ the returning soldiers. Economic opportunities for women abruptly were gone.  Women again returned to their home duties, but eventually will find their place in the job market in  the coming decades.

Finally, women obtained recognition for a job well done, and working during the war years open the doors for women around the world to become more independent now than in any other time in the past.    

The end of World War I affected the women in their workplace as it ended economic opportunities for women.

Reconstruction era in the United States repeatedly advocated for the privileges and freedom of women. During the world war, women were allowed to contribute to the mere war efforts.They were involved in dispensing mail-in warehouses of different military bases. Women also involved themselves in the various administrative jobs as most of the men were serving for the war.

The wages were low as compared to what men were paid but it was a great opportunity for them to work outside the home and prove their worthiness. But, unfortunately, after the war,many of them were obliged to be idle for the employment of returning male soldier. This abrupt their economic opportunities and compelled them again to engage themselves in household duties.
