In the presidential elections of 1980 the American people elected as president the Republican candidate Ronald Reagan before the Democrat candidate Jimmy Carter, at that time head of state.

The elections were marked by the slow recovery of the economic crisis of the mid-70s, whose main effects were a significant rise in inflation and unemployment. At the international level the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the fiasco of the Marielitos and the Iran Hostage Crisis also hit Carter hard, especially after the failure of the Eagle Claw Mission to rescue the kidnapped Americans in Tehran. All this benefited Reagan, whose optimism managed to defeat Carter.

from my own personal expirence food stamps has alot this makes it eaiser so we can affod bills and so we can life a better lifestyle not needing to worry about paying actual money to buy food since most people spend 100-300 dollars a month on food so this alot so we can afford other bills and other stuff we need

since most of current immigration into the u.s., both legal and illegal, is coming from latin america. it would be very difficult to imagine or rationalize a country my fellow citizens are trying desperately to flee into, would pose a threat to my prosperity or freedom. since the u.s. has a long history of intervention, but no record of permanent occupation, i would not feel oppression is the main objective.  

the largest free trade nation, along with the largest gdp in the world wanting to expand it's economic policy on us, and including us, could only be positive. the u.s. government has no interest in, or way of simply forcing american culture on us. and has no track record of it. other nations that adopted american social culture, or "americanization" did so voluntarily, mainly through the choice of allowing american businesses and u.s. citizens to come into their nations, as free operatives.
