Why was the war of 1812 a turning point for the early united states

The War of 1812 put an end to the intentions of creating an Indigenous Confederation and an independent indigenous state sponsored by Great Britain.

Although there was invasion of Canadian and US territories by both parties, they were returned with the Treaty of Ghent, signed on December 24, 1814.

The final conflict with the last colonial ties with Britain, demonstrating the military and economic capacity of the United States in the eyes of Europe.

The later stage was the economic prosperity of the United States, and a boost to the westward expansion. The so-called "Era of good feelings" with a reaffirmation of national values.
