The February revolution was the resultant of the oppression that was being faced by the peasants after the failure of Tsarist and Nicholas in the First World War. The rural peasants were liberated from serfdom but were still debarred from the redemption payment to the State. The rebel broke in Russian in 1917 on the issue of scarcity of food in Petrograd. By the end of 1917, most of the Russians citizens lost faith in the czarist regime. Corruption in the administration was at its peak and the economy continued backward. Czar Nicholas II was repeatedly dissolving the Dumas that the Russian parliamentary framers established after the Revolution of 1905, each time the dogmas were opposing his will.

The protest or came on the road protesting against the government for bread. Around 90,000 citizens clashed with the police and refused to leave the street. The actual drama started when the military men send to curb the protest too joined the protest and forced the Imperial government to resign.
