The second industrial revolution or the Technical Revolution was an electric revolution. Many problems arose during this era - the gap between the rich and the poor grew, unemployment remained unsolved, and economic growth was unstable, with the world economy experiencing harsh depressions.  However, innovations such as the development of railroads resulting to an economical transportation of goods, massive production of iron and steel, and the evolution of electricity as a source of power were brought by the second industrial revolution.
