What link do you see between the industrial revolution and imperialism

The industrial revolution created a need for resources that weren't natural resources in some european countries, but were abundant in african or asian nations.

another, probably better, link would be that the industrial revolution led to the creation of weapons (like the maxim gun) that were superior to native africans and asians weapons.
