Pro: During the civil rights era, the spread of national television actually brought systematic racism as well as the inequalities of the time to light. A great example was the recording of MLK’s “I have a Dream” speech. That was covered by camera and was able to be presented across televisions nationwide.

Con: Some people don’t know this, but during the civil rights era, a movie was made by the KKK to promote not only the KKK but the “southern supremacy.” This movie was a national hit during the time and in fact, is the reason the current KKK burns crosses.
