What caused america to enter a new era as a republic?

Americans usually always don't like to be acknowledged, but the U.S. has huge history of battles so-called "Dirty wars". And these breath-taking wars/battles were the main cause of America's entrance to new Era.
Perhaps instead of insisting, Americans should never get involved in these conflicts.
