Private property a good deal! We mentioned Plato's governmental view on abolishing private property because it led
to greed and evil. We also talked about John Locke's ideas on
life, liberty, and property. Now we are going to talk about
property in the context of our Constitution.
Eminent Domain suggests that governments can take up
land/homes/spaces owned privately to be instead, for public use
as they see fit. Read the story on page 13 and ask yourself,
"what rights should the government have over our own private
property?"
What do you think? Give me a 4-7 sentence answer for both
numbers one and two, then submit.
