What are some ways to ensure that you don't cross social or personal boundaries of others when out in public?

The space to be yourself and to uphold your personal integrity is needed for a healthy relationship. When you explain what they are, most people will respect your limitations and will expect you to do the same with them; it's a two-way street. Not so for people who don't understand where you are going to finish and they're going to start.
