They colonial era is one of the most famous/biggest peaks of American History, mostly because of three things. The Wars, new technology, and freedom from Britain. Now, what did it mean to be an American back then? Well, it meant you were free. Freedom was really all Americans wanted, whether it be freedom of religion, speech, or taxes. The era served as America’s biggest identity situation as this era define Freedom. After winning the war and freeing themselves from Britain, they were finally seen as free people.
