The president of China, Xi Jinping, is the ceremonial head of state. A ceremonial head of state is kind of like the Queen of England, the position has a limited power. There are no term limits for the president, the current president has been in the position since 2013.

The president can make laws, dismiss prime ministers, grant pardons, declare a state of emergency, and can name/dismiss ambassadors to foreign countries.
