The Seneca Falls Convention was a meeting in 1848 that was meant to bring up the fight for equal treatment of women within American society. At this time, the women of the convention created the "Declaration of Sentiments." This document took the wording of the Declaration of Independence and changed it to fit the viewpoint/demands of women within American society. Women who attended this convention were in favor of things like the ability of women to vote in local, state, and national elections.
