Dear Mother,

Days are hard lately. Me and Father barely have enough water to grow our crops and the dust isn't helping. We have had to put rugs underneath the doors to keep dust from blowing in.  I hate it and I miss you. I cant wait until you get enough money so we can leave. I have to go into town later to try and buy food but no one is doing any better food is rare for everyone. The town is so slow and dark. No one is seen outside anymore and no one is trying to grow their crops anymore. I hope this all ends soon father cannot take much more. I know it hurts him to know that he can't do anything to provide for me, and it hurts me just as much as it hurts him. I love you and I hope you are doing well.
