What created the First Party System, or, to put it another way, how did the Jay's Treaty draw the line in the sand for the two political parties? 1. It was mostly issues concerning Spanish Florida that separated the two sides and thus created the First Party System.

2. It was mostly economic issues and the role of the Federal government in the economy that creates the First Party System.

3. The Jay's Treaty and the French Revolution showed who was who in American society- who supported Britain and who supported France. This is what creates the first two political parties.
