Although many colonial women were Patriots, the Declaration of Independence did not address their rights. Abigail Adams (wife of delegate John Adams) tried to influence her husband to include women's rights in the Declaration. Read her quote then respond to the question. "Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors.
