What are the economic benefits of imperialism?

The economic benefits of an imperialistic agenda:

-Creation of businesses that take place in a colony and focuses on exporting natural resources.

-Has a direct market towards any colonies and an advantage over other countries within that region.

-May control certain strategic trade routes (Example: the Suez Canal in Eygpt that was held by the British Empire)

-Those natural resources brought back to the homeland would benefit local businesses that need natural resources to make their products.

this means that germany had to pay the allied countries. reparations are/is essentially payment for something that they have done wrong, so after ww1, germany was forced to pay reparations so they could replenish the allied countries resources' that they had lost during the war.
