What would today's world be like if China and Japan had colonized most of the world instead of Europe?

Their culture would be spread across the world, including their language, religious practices and even certain laws. The world be totally different as the influence of European culture would be smaller. English wouldn't be dominant language, Christianity wouldn't be dominant religion, etc.
