During this period, new inventions were important for the Homesteaders because, new inventions such as windmills, barbed wire, dry farming, the sulky plow, and New Wheat were used in solving problems of farming such as lack of water, heavy rain, unwanted grazing by livestock, difficulty in plowing the land in these areas and assist in the area development.
