Why did different ethnic groups within the Ottoman Empire begin to revolt?

The different ones tunic groups in the Ottoman Empire began to revolt in the 1800s as a result of their growing sentiments for the empire . They started feeling that their needs were not adequately represented and decided to form their own country in order to be able to solve their issues faster . There led them wanting to divide the empire among themselves.European pressure was also one of the main factors.The European imperialistic empires started a vicious competition of gaining world power. One of the side effects was the further weakening of the Ottoman Empire . Countries like Greece (1821 revolution) Macedonia,Bulgaria ,Albania and Serbia defied the crumbling Ottoman Empire . Also the rise of the western notion of nationalism caused the breakdown of the Ottoman millet concept . Lastly the difference in culture language and religion caused the different ethnic groups to revolt as their cultures were being suppressed .
