It consisted of a series of programs which revolved around the philosophy of government intervention in the economic lives of the people and the country.

Both the First New Deal (1933-1934) and the Second New Deal (1935-1938) aimed at enhancing federal government intervention in providing relief to the people, recovery of the dilapidated economy and reforming the exiting economic policies.

With policies such as The Federal Relief Act, The National Recovery Act, The Social Security Act, etc, the government assisted the people from poverty and loss of jobs and businesses.
