How is William Blake's poem "A Poison Tree" an example of Romantic literature?

“A Poison Tree" is an excellent example of romanticism because it checks the main boxes of romantic poetry. First, the speaker is focused on his own emotional state and its consequences, both of which were critical to the romantic poets as a reaction against the mechanization and standardization of the industrial revolution. Additionally, the poem focuses on the imagination of the speaker, wherein the emotion becomes an image that the genius of the poet works through. For "A Poison Tree," these dovetails neatly into a focus on the natural world, again as a reaction against industrialization. The cultivation of a tree reflects the pastoral world. However, that tree finally shifts and merges into the other significant aspect of romanticism: a glorification of the past, including past stories and literary traditions. In this case, the anger becomes a tree which in turn becomes the tree of knowledge in Eden, under which both speaker and antagonist find the fall of mankind through the suppression of emotion. All these aspects work together to characterize romanticism and are reflected in Blake's poem.
