Two other compromises made about slavery during the Constitutional Convention were that northern slaves would not count slaves in their population unless southern states only counted half of their slaves in their population

that slavery could never be banned in the United States and that slaves that were older than 20 years old could not be traded any more

that slaves could only be brought to states with plantations like Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina but not to states like Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia

that Congress would not outlaw the slave trade until after 20 years (1808) and that there would be a fugitive slave law which would return escaped slaves to their owners.
