Women fought for progress using a number of controversial techniques: From blackmail, to robbery, to attempted arson, there seemed to be no end  to what women would attempt to gain personal rights and make suffrage a realty.

Women couldn't agree on what their end goals were, and there were several different movements happening at once. Famous Suffragettes like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were well known for fighting for Suffrage: Wanting men to suffer just as much as women had. Another goal was temperance, which is wanting to keep men from having a temper. Women fought and protested and picketed for this, really making it seem like they were the ones with tempers, so the temperance movement failed.
