How did the Republicans' view of government differ from the Federalists? The Republicans believed many things in the U. S. Constitution were unfair, and the Federalists believed in a strict reading of the Constitution.

The Federalists believed very strongly in the "Spirit of 76," but the Republicans thought that way of thinking should not be taken too seriously.

The Republicans believed in more independence for the people, and the Federalists believed the government should have more control.

The Federalists believed the Republicans exerted too much power over the people, and the Republicans thought the Federalists did not exert enough.
