What are the Demographic characteristics of the New England, Chesapeake, Middle, and Southern colonies? Explain each separately :)

New England was settled by a highly educated, agricultural demographic, and its population grew rapidly due to favorable weather conditions that kept disease low. The middle colonies were founded by many different ethnic and religious groups, aided by policies of tolerance.

The Chesapeake – Maryland and Virginia – have many distinct characteristics. The two colonies get their name from the Chesapeake Bay. Although Jamestown (VA) did not have much economic success in its first few years, both colonies eventually became wealthy by exporting the cash crop tobacco.

Middle colonies-coastal lowlands with many harbors and bays, wide deep rivers, settlers found rich farmland, Because of the moderate climate, it was easy to farm there. Southern colonies-had good harbors and many rivers, the warm, humid climate made it ideal for growing many crops.

After the successful cultivation of cash crops in the Chesapeake colonies, the Southern colonies were also founded to continue creating large plantations. Demographics in the colonies: Both the Chesapeake and Southern colonies were made up of a majority of single, young, white men who worked as indentured servants.
