La palabra "ética" se deriva de la palabra griega ethos (carácter), y de la palabra latina mores (aduanas). Juntos, se combinan para definir cómo las personas eligen interactuar entre sí. En filosofía, la ética define lo que es bueno para el individuo y para la sociedad y establece la naturaleza de los deberes que las personas se deben a sí mismas y unas a otras.
