Another reason that Adams was not reelected is because he did not get enough votes for the electoral vote and lost the popular vote. Adams also supported the Alien and Sedition act.
When he was president the people thought he was weak. He also only favored the rich business owners and wealthy people so the farmers and regular people voted for Jefferson.
