Through the spread of Islam, African States changed into great wealth in the circa period.

Islam led to wealth in the area because it was spread through trade in the region.  As the Islamic religion grew in the West African region, so did the trans-Saharan Caravan trade.

Trade made the Islamic and the West African people to be richer. Also in the North of Africa, Muslims were moving migrating to the west of Africa for settlement.

One way that parts of Africa changed was in the area of art. Islam brought the art of writing, beautiful architecture, sciences, and measuring systems, and philosophy. Many cities grew and had beautiful buildings and culture sprung up from them embracing Islam. This was in part from Islam but also from the ones who brought it to Africa. Traders, sailors, and others.
