I and my family just moved to this new land colony. We were very happy with this new land. It was great for farming. The fertile soil was perfect for the crops and plants. The land was cheap and we also had a bit of protection from the native Americans. In 1822, there was a drought. This was very hard for everyone and my family because we ended up with no food and starved. We were raided and attacked by the Karankawas and Tonkawas. Many people were coming without a survey.
