The mission of the Department of Defense is to provide the military forces, equipment and technology needed to deter war and to protect the security of our country. In an essay of approximately 300 words, describe why, in your opinion, achieving this mission requires a tremendously large civilian workforce representing more than 20 percent of all civilians employed by the United States government.
