In the first paragraph the petitioners told how slaves were dragged apart from their families and forced into slavery. They said the slaves felt as if their friends had unjustly oppressed them. This petition mirrored the revolutionary ideas because they were speaking of similar things. The petitioners wanted freedom for black slaves, and the founding fathers wanted free from unjust laws made by the government. Both parties wanted freedom from the discriminatory rules held against them.
