The Columbian exchange, also known as the Columbian interchange, named after Christopher Columbus, was the widespread transfer of plants, animals, culture, human populations, technology, diseases, and ideas between the Americas, West Africa, and the Old World in the 15th and 16th centuries.  

Explanation

Both Europeans and Native Americans were introduced to new diseases. However, the Native Americans were greatly effected because their immune systems and bodies weren't as great as the Europeans were. The Natives population decreased dramatically and they had no way of curing these harmful diseases.

The Columbian exchange was where the British brought things over to America and they traded stuff with the Native Americans which resulted in the Native Americans getting diseases and the Europeans getting new things.
