Alexander the Great and Cyrus the Great had a similarity is that they both conquered their neighbors.Cyrus the Great was the founder of the Achaemenid empire, he conquered all the civilized states of the ancient Near East and later conquered most of Central Asia and Western Asia. His empire spanned from Hellespont and the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the Indus River in the east. It was one of the largest empires in the world. Cyrus ruled for thirty years. He initiated the conquest with the Median empire, Lydian empire, and then a Babylonian empire.Alexander the Great was the king of Macedon who later founded the Macedonian Empire. He belonged to the Argean dynasty. He became king by succeeding his father in 356 BC and spent most of his ruling years conducting military campaigns throughout Northeastern Africa and Western Asia and by the time of his death his empire stretched from Greece to northwestern India. He began his conquest in 334 BC by invading Achaemenid Empire.Thus, option a is the correct answer.

Both Alexander and Cyrus were revered emperors of their time, so much so that they each earned the moniker "The Great" attached to their names. They built empires that covered great distances and did this by conquering neighbouring lands and people.

Cyrus the Great conquered the Median empire and then went on to defeat and assimilate into his empire, the Babylonians, Syrians, and the people of Asia Minor and the rest of Mesopotamia.

Alexander was even more revered and waged wars to conquer all of Greece, Anatolia, Egypt, present-day Israel and all of Persia. He ended up extending Greek rule from Greece to India.
