b. The Jumano Indians originate in the Southwest and Great Plains, areas reliant on rain for crops. During droughts, they struggled with food scarcity and lack of water, which led to hunger and dehydration.

c. The US Army fought many battles against the Jumano Indians and other various Indian tribes in the mid 1800's. It killed many people on both sides.
